Valley Dynamo Gully Boot Replacement

I have an older Valley Dynamo pool table which needs the gully boots replaced.

I suspect the top needs to be removed to accomplish this task but I am not certain.

Does anyone know the proper procedure to replace the gully boots in a Dynamo pool table?
