Bumper Pool - Pocket Lip

Purchased a imperial table and plays very well except for one thing. Both pockets have the lip raised slightly above the felt. It is hardly noticeable, but on very slow rollers, it is enough to keep the ball from rolling in. I have tried pushing down but am afraid too much pressure will damage pocket.

Any suggestions? Has anyone had this issue?

   Try the pointy end of a not too hot steam iron.
