@Fenwick - Yeah, I guess you're right but still there are a lot of filipinos who are great by the way like Bustamante, Orcollo, Reyes just to name a few

You are correct sir. Pool/Billiards is not confined to Europe and the United States anymore. They're coming from all four corners of the world now.

So much talent and so many players; men and women. Kinda like tennis.

I prefer watching the women. Easy on the eyes and no woofing like the men.

BTW, the best Billiards player of all time, Billiards was and is Willie Hoppe bar none. I'm a history buff. The old timers didn't play king of the hill playing 9 ball. It was straight pool, race to 150 for the money. It was quite likely if you broke bad you sat in your chair counting out your money. 150 and out was not uncommon. 100 were a dime a dozen. That was rare back the given the playing conditions. When I say rare I mean there was only a handful of players who could match up even. George Pawelski was, is one of the few remaining genuine 200 ball runners still living. He still can walk in cold and run 150! He picked me one day and just for grins playing to 100 ran 89 but got bored.

Yes, Efren "Bata" Reyes is a great player and one of the top ten today. He will make the hall of fame.

Not to disagree that Efren is one of the best all time, but what sets him apart is he can make the CB do things normal people (outside of artistic billiards) cannot. YouTube is replete with various shots he has done that astound the crowds. What is more, is that he has masters all aspects of the game, 9-ball, 8-ball, 14.1 continuous,... What else is even more, is that he remains a humble person who is completely at ease with himself and his environment.

@Mitch Alsup - I have to agree with you on that one!

Oh and by the way here's a list of the best Filipino players in this time: List of Filipino Pool Players
