Getting my First Jump and Break Pool Cue

Getting my First Jump and Break Pool Cue

I am about to order my first pool cue.

This is mostly guess work for me so if you think I am wasting my money please let me know.

The playing cue is not so much a problem, I am thinking of going for a Sneaky Pete with a Predator Z2 shaft.

I am looking at the Elite break cue and the Elite jump cue, and I am not so sure about the choice between the two. I can afford any jump cue on Seybert's so what do you guys think is the best one? What about the break cue?

I think your choice is a good one especially the Z 2 shaft. As for the break cue I would get/got a break/jump. Unless i am misunderstanding you it sounds like you are looking at two different cue for your break and jump. One will do the job. One thing I would recommend, on the break/jump do not go with a phenolic tip. They are controversial at best and the tips do not hold chalk the way a reg tip will. I had one and took it off and put regular hard Lepro tip on it. Also, weight wise go for about an 18oz stick rather than a heavy one. On the other hand, if you are a big person with large hands you may want a 20 or 21 oz. I would not venture to tell anyone what brand to buy. As you probably know the prices are pretty much the same in most places and the more bells and whistles on the butt the more it will cost. The bottom line, as far as I'm concerned, is how does it feel in your hand. If it feels right...it probably is. With the new Z 2 just be aware that there will be a learning curve getting use to it especially if the tip is a diferent size than what you are use to.

    Good luck with your choice.
