Best Cue Tip for Break Cue and Playing Cue

Best Cue Tip for Break Cue and Playing Cue

I am a beginner pool player and got a playing cue and a break cue for Christmas and have a question about what pool cue tips should be used on a break cue and what pool cue tips should be used on a playing cue

  1. I have 2 pool cues, 1 for breaking and 1 for playing with. On my breaking cue I use a hard tip but I'm not sure what kind of tip I should use on my playing cue (soft, med, hard). So how do I know what tip is best for me?
  2. What brand of pool cue tips should I be using? I've been recommended Kamui and predator tips

To find what type of pool cue tip you should be using for each type of pool cue takes a bit of time. Through trial and error you will discover which pool cue tip is best for you. Here are a few points on my experiences with pool cue tips:

    • Kamui tips are kind of expensive for experimenting.
    • I'm playing with a Schon tip currently. It's a buffalo hide tip.
    • I've also used LePro pool cue tips.
    • I'm not a fan of layered tips.

Cool. I'll just experiment around with different pool cue tips and will probably opt for some cheaper ones until I figure out what I like.
