Regardless of the quality of any pool cue, tip and shaft - they all need maintenance and depending on frequently played, tip placement.

This website has a wealth of information on such things at the green upper right pull-down called "billiards Equipment" Cue Tip Replacement for Pool Cues

There are tons of You-tube samples of how to remove and replace tip - not to mention tons of info on sizing, shaping and various materials used to make quality tips.

Crazy Glue or something very similar seems to be the first choice in adhesives.

If you're at all handy (or mechanically inclined) putting a new tip on an existing stick is a piece of cake.

Decent replacement tips range from a buck a pop to 25+ dollars each. Some of the alleged advantages of a $25+ dollar tip are lost real fast when one removes the sales hype (which is huge).

Don't forget to rough up the ferrule and tip face before using the crazy glue. If either are shiny - the tip will fly off at the worst possible time ;)
