Maintaining Pool Cues With Ivory

I finally own a pool cue with an ivory butt and an ivory ferrule.

Are there any issues in taking care of ivory or is it maintenance free?

I appreciate a comment on what you may have seen or heard about maintaining pool cues containing ivory.

   I would think that all you will have to do is wipe it down with a soft clean cloth after you are finished with it.

   I think this will be enough for You. And all players please keep in mind that all custom cues are polished several times (in layers) with different type of polisher. So be careful when applying any cleaners.
