Is anyone else building pool cues on a cheap lathe

I bought a Turncrafter Pro lathe plus the extension bed, a 3 jaw chuck and a drill chuck off Amazon back in April and decided to try my hand at building pool cues. I built this butt within 3 days of getting the equipment. I have fallen in love with this hobby and have built several more cues including one with ebony and ivory inlays in the butt sleave. I had to build a roller rest because none were available and I had to devise a way to properly align the tailstock so that I could bore holes to set the pin. What I did was buy a laser that fit in the drill chuck while mounted in the tailstock then aimed it at the 3 jaw chuck mounted in the head stock and when it was dead on I locked the tailstock in place, removed the laser and inserted the bit to bore the hole, it worked perfectly.
