Cue joint protector

Cue joint protector

I bought a cue about 9 years that is not made anymore. It is an Excalibur brand cue, not the Cuetec Excalibur. I was wondering if there was any way to figure out what kind of joint protector it would need.

I was in my local billiards shop yesterday getting a tip replaced. They had a display box with joint protectors to fit at least 5 different kinds of joints, at something like $15.
