Unknown cue stick

Unknown cue stick

I recieved this cue stick from my grandfather, they had a pool table 20 or so years ago. Its some sort of metal, it says Sharpshooter on the side, and it has a very large screw in tip unlike others that I've seen. I was just hoping someone could help me identify the maker, or instruct me on how I could replace the tip because I've grown a bit fond of the stick. In the picture below the entire silver part unscrews from the top and the actual screw is almost as wide as the tip itself. Thanks in advance for any help.

I have, but I didn't find anything other than normal screw in tips.

My uncle, Joe Diaz, billiards professional in his day, passed away and left a large amount of cues. We don't know how to determine which are quality. Many have no maker marks - is it worth putting the effort into finding an expert?
