Help identify this cue

I decided to try and find out a little about this cue I received 20 years ago from my grandmother. The cue belonged to my grandfather who passed away 10 years before I received the stick. My grandmother said this was the stick he played with for years. I started becoming interested in the cue when 7 years ago I took the stick to a pool cue repair and had a new wrap put on the stick to have something nice of my grandfathers. When the repair was done the individual who made the repairs asked how I came across this stick. I told him and he said I had a beautiful cue. He told me the wood was made of a palm wood, and had ivory backs on it. He then asked if I was willing to sell the stick and made me a pretty good offer on it.

I'm trying to get more information on the stick because I haven't found any identifying markings on the stick to include manufacturing stamps. For all I know it may be something great or a 10 dollar special from japan that gave the individual a great laugh in offering me some bogus offer in his amusement. Thanks!
