Do you need a table with no pockets to play this Three Cushion Billiards?

Yah, Three Cushion Billiards is a carambole game, and not really a billiards game. (Like artistic billiards.) So really, for the Three Cushion Billiard Rules to work as they were intended, Three Cushion is to be played on a pocketless table.

you could play three cushion on a pocket table lol if you wanted but it wouldn't last very long those dame pockets would get in the way lol besides three cushion tables are a larger table i believe they are 10x5.5 I'm not quite sure cloth is way faster then simonis or champ 3030 and the rails are spot on man spot on

Yes, you need a table with no pockets. Go to you you tube, "carom three cushion billiards". You will find numerous videos. It's a great game, and the videos are excellent for learning. Enjoy. Terry

3 cushion is usually played on a 5ft x 10ft billiard table without pockets. The balls are also bigger. Pool balls are 57.2mm (2 1/4 in) billiard balls are 61.5mm (close to 2 7/16 in)

If you have a snooker table nearby, but not a billiard table - try English Billiards.

I had entertained the thought of putting a pool table in my house but then I thought, "I hadn't played pool in years". Then for some reason, perhaps generated by the movie "The Hustler" with Paul Newman, I thought, "well what about this other game..3 cushion billiards. Even though I'd never played it I was curious. I've since aquired a table built in Chicago in 1948(9 by 4.5). This is one fascinating game and I am totally hooked. I've had the table for 4 months now and am just getting the hang of it. It comes highly recommended!
