Playing Pool Under Preasure
I play pool at home, no one else in my house will play, so I play and practice alone. I seem to do reasonably well.
I did join a league for a while and did quite well. I still have the problem when I set out to play someone other than myself I tend to forget almost everything I have learned how to do..
It is like my mind goes blank! Any suggestions?

Just remember two things:
- Every shot is the winning shot - Any shot that you don't make (but could) is a potential losing shot. Thus every shot deserves the same attention as the game/match willing shot. Thus, give every shot a full measure of your attention, shotmaking capabilities, and position play capabilities.
- you are still only playing yourself - When you are at the table, you are playing the table, not the opponent. While the opponent is at the table, you are sitting down figuring out how to run the table once your opponent misses. Thus, its still you against the table. The opponent (even if it is Mike Massey) is not who you are playing--the table is--the opponent is simply the person who messes up the ball positions between your innings at the table.

LMAO, that's some funny stuff, very true too, never thought of it quite like that. Well spoken sir.

So just continue as if I were playing against myself then should have no problem. Will give it a try.
