Slate or Hardwood

brand new at this guys,

I hear slate is best but is hardwood good too?

see loads of hardwood tables for sale but dont wont to waste time or money if they are useless.

I am not a professional just like to play pool any tips would be great thanks.

any who is doing the best deals right now.

You may have hardwood and slate a bit confused. When they say hardwood they aren't talking about the playing surface. They are talking about almost everything else. as far as the playing surface you wasn't slate and not Chinese slate.
