Reputable Online Pool Table Dealer?

Reputable Online Pool Table Dealer?

I live 4 hours from any major city so I'm looking for an online source to get a table shipped to me. This will be my first table and my budget is between $1500-3000. I'm pretty handy so I don't see any reason to not install it myself. The problem is every web site out there gets terrible reviews if you dig deep enough. Many people wait up to 6 months to get their tables and some never get them at all. I'm not loyal to any particular brand so I'm open to any and all suggestions. I am looking for a 7' table as my space is a bit restricted. If buying locally would be more ideal I can drive to Albuquerque or El Paso if anyone knows of any reputable places there.

I bought my Olhausen from Billiards Warehouse. This table was specified as solid cherry with natural finish. In addition I choose the apron shape and routing, the diamond inlays, and a small number of other things. I got the table deliverd and set up within 10 days--and at least the frame had to be MADE at the factory at the time of order. However, the middle of last year the factory might have been essentially idle and this minimized my delay.

I did not actually write the check until the table was installed and the installers were on the way out the door. I did lay on a 10% deposit.

All of the American on-line manufactures will point you to one of their stores or affiliated stores to handle the business end of the transaction, take your order in the store, and set up the table in your home as part of the transaction. {Brunswick, Olhausen, Conney, Diamond}. They do this due to concerns about things like state and local taxes, scheduling, acquisition of table mechanic, and general care of the customer.

For $1500 you are looking at veneer or laminate over partical board structures with some solid woods where deemed necessary. At $2500 you are looking at some solid exterior hardwood construction and some lesser woods on the unseen parts. At $3500 you are are loking at completely solid hardwood construction; at this level even the slate backing is real wood (not partical board). The more expensive "furnature" tables are just fine for anybody less than a semi-pro; and beyond this you really want a table designed for touraments. The price jumps into the $6000 range.

Billiards warehouse sells Olhausen, Brusnwick and several other imported tables. You might want to check them out: Austin, Dallas, Houston, San Antonio, Las Vegas

I was and remain completely satisfied with my transaction.
