New Pool Table

New Pool Table

Hello,

I am in the market for a new pool table and do not want to spend more than 4-5k. I am a beginner but would like a table that is very well built and will last a long time. I have looked at American Heritage, olhausen, Spencer-Marston, American Custom Pool Tables and Connelly. I know the Spencers are from China and would really prefer american made if the price AND quality is right. Any thoughts?

Earlier this year I bought an Olhausen table. One of the reason I choose this particular table was the customization I could apply to it. First, it is solid cherry (all the wood) in a natural finish. I got to pick the side skirts, the top rails, the legs, whether or not to add a decorative route along the bottom of the frame rails, the color of the pocket leather. On the top rails, I specified the black diamond with mother of perl inlay. In addition, I pugraded the balls to Super Aramith Pro balls, adn the cloth to Simonis 760. This 8 foot table was deliverd in 2 weeks and cost right around $3500. It is beautiful, and plays very well.

I am well satisfied with my purchase 6 months down the road.

Excepting for the customization (which Diamond also does to a lesser degree) most of the top 3 {Brusnwick, Olhausen, Diamond} (or 4) {Connely} manufactures are competitive in the $2500-$4000 range in features and functionality. They are all competitive in the tourneyment tables end of the range $7000-ish.

Nathan - I'm an Olhausen dealer in Oklahoma, and I'd say hands down the Olhausen table is the best table in the $3,000-$5,000 price range. American made, the best cushion on the market, the most options available, best warranty and dealer network in the industry.

Let me know if you have any questions I'd be happy to discuss further. I own two pool table stores in Oklahoma.
