New Aramith Super Pro-Cup TV Pool Balls?

New Aramith Super Pro-Cup TV Pool Balls?

If I get a new pool table, should I get the billiard balls with the standard colors or the new Aramith Super Pro-Cup TV balls with the 4, 7, 12, 15, and cue balls that look different than the standard set?

Yesterday on ESPN 2, I saw a 9-ball tournament where Jeannette Lee and Jennifer Barretta were playing in (vs. different opponents) and they had the new TV billiard balls on the table. The TV balls are different than the standard balls, the fact being that the cue ball has red dots on it, the 4 ball is pink instead of purple, the 7 ball is tan or light brown instead of maroon or burgundy (When they do games on TV where all 15 balls are used, the 12 ball has a pink stripe instead of a purple one, and the 15 ball's stripe is light brown or tan instead of maroon or burgundy.) The idea was that the regular 4 and 12 balls would be confused with the 2 and 10 balls and the 3 and 11 balls would be confused with the 7 and 15 balls.

My father, my sister, my brother-in-law, and I saw the TV balls both on the screen and in pictures. I told them about the virtues of the new balls, but I was outvoted 3-1. In fact, I somewhat changed my mind when the TV lights made the pink 4 and the orange 5 ball looked the same from a distance, and my father wasn't too pleased with the 4 ball. To me, the 4 ball was the same color as Pepto-Bismol and the brown 7 ball looked a muddy brown.

So, what do you think would be best for a home table, the standard colors or the TV billiard ball colors?

I personally like the standard billiard ball color better than the TV ball colors.

I prefer the standard pool ball colors when playing. Unless you want a somewhat 'different' set, I think you would be happy going with standard for a home pool table.
