Billiard Rules for Not Contacting a Cushion

Billiard Rules for Not Contacting a Cushion

My question is the following:

If I hit one of my balls with the cue ball and then afterward, no ball hits any rail, is that a foul?

Is it always a foul if no balls touch the cushion?

This question relates to the following billiard rules:

Can you rewrite the question using a vocabulary selected from the following list::

Cue-ball, Object-ball, Opponents-ball, Cushion, Rail, Pocket, Felt, table, cue, cue-tip, hand, bridge, chalk, chalk-cube, clothing.

And at least attempt some punctuation.

I think it might be due to Country of origin and lack of English skills, age or all of the above Mitch?

@gomora, might I suggest spell check before your next post post.

"my question is the following if i hit one of my balls with the white one, (cue ball?) and don't touch afterwards any band, (a rail?) with any ball is there a possibility I get no foul, so shortly if I don't touch any band, (a rail?) during a move of me its always foul?!"

If you're asking; if you don't drive a ball to a rail or pocket a ball, is it a foul. Yes it's a foul.

Gomora: I think we are having a slight language problem here, but the way I read it you are referring to the bands, meaning rails on the table. I do not know anything about snooker so I will assume you are asking about one of the other games: i.e. eight ball, nine ball or 14.1 continuous pool. You do have to hit the rail or sink an object ball in a pocket with either the object ball you are playing or the cue ball. If not it is considered a foul.

And I'm assuming that rails are called bands in your location.

Hi, Its great to join the discussion over here...Billiards is a game of angles and variations - rules change according to table, venue, region and tradition. But there are a few commonly accepted rules to the game. Its better if you follow the rule at play so that you can win easily...
