Meucci M7, 95-12, or HOF-2 Cue - Model, Year, Value?

Meucci M7, 95-12, or HOF-2 Cue - Model, Year, Value?

Any help identifying this Meucci cue?

I'm the original owner, bought somewhere mid 80's to early 90's.

It looks like a Meucci M-7 cue except for the wrap, which is a speckled black. It's never been re-wrapped.

I checked the rubber bumper, and the part that goes into the butt cap is about 3/4".

Any help in identifying the exact model, year, and value would be appreciated.

With Meucci cues (and most), you generally can't rely on wrap style for identification purposes. Even when buying new, one can specify the wrap if ordering direct.

As you saw on the other question you replied to which discusses the Meucci 95-12, HOF-2, or Meucci M7 - your cue is either a:

    • Meucci 95-12
    • Meucci HOF-2
    • Meucci M-7

...and there isn't much, if any, difference between them.

Certainly no real difference in value. They essentially just carried-over the design to whatever line was current at the time. HOF line being the most recent. What most affects the value of this particular model is that the blue inlays have a tendency to bleed out into the surrounding wood. Yours doesn't appear to have done that yet.

The stock catalog images all show the white linen wraps. Here's an example of the 95-12 with a black linen wrap:

I think based on the date range in which you said you bought the cue, and the rubber bumper measurements, it's a Meucci M-7 cue.

By the way, here are the exact measurements and details on how to measure the rubber bumper plug to date the Meucci cue:

    • 1980s and earliest 1990s bumpers are about 3/4" or .750 (See top portion of photo below)
    • The newer Meucci cues use .675 (See middle portion of photo below)
