Help Identifying Cue with Shaft Marked "GD" or "CD"

Help Identifying Cue with Shaft Marked "GD" or "CD"

I am looking for a little help in identifying this cue.

The only markings on the pool cue are "GD" (or "CD" not sure) on the shafts.

It is a pretty long cue at 60 inches, and from what I understand it was made in the late 1970's or early 1980's in the southeast (Georgia, I believe but I can't say 100%). I got it back in the mid 1990s in GA and have been using it off and on ever since.

I'm just wondering if anyone has seen this marking before and if the cue builder is still around.

If it's "GD" on the pool cue, and it's from Georgia, then "GD Cues" comes to mind.

They're made by Gary Dawkins and based out of Augusta, GA.

The thing is that he only started making cues in 1995, but you've indicated that you believe it's from the 1970s or 1980s.

I couldn't find any other examples of GD Cues online to compare the makers mark (if that's actually what that is—could it possibly be the initials of the old owner?).

Either way, here's the (old) info for GD Cues (Mr. Dawkins is out of the game, and sold his cue making gear over 10 years ago to James Hanshew of Hanshew Custom Cues).
