Organizing an Informal Pool League

I live in a community that has a 4 table Billiard Room. We have various player levels. I'd like to get some friendly competition going by organizing an informal pool league. No gambling.

So far about 10 people are interested. I expect to get about 15.

How do I get started with match ups...do we start with single or doubles?

I know most of the players levels and some I do not. The game will most likely be 8 ball and short games of straight pool to 25 to keep it moving.

Thanks in advance for any advice.

    Dear Choke2much,

    What ever you do stay away from the BCAPL, CSI Play Pool, or the VNEA. They can not remember or enforce their own rules. Whats worse is they simply don't care either!
